Details On My Nutella Party

Photobucket
Last week I had my Nutella Party. Five ladies came over and joined me for coffee, chit-chat and to talk about the popular spread at my house.

Widely popular in Europe, Nutella has now made its way in the U.S. (Have you seen the recent commercials?) Ingredients include roasted hazelnuts, skim milk and a hint of cocoa. There's no artificial colors or preservatives, is gluten-free and it's my 2-year-old daughter's daily addiction.

Nutella sent me a box full of goodies to give out to my guests. Here's a photo of the tumblers, bags, spreaders, sample packs of Nutella, recipe cards and coupons. One of the tips on the cards say to make Nutella crepes with banana. I was going to make them for my guests but didn't want to spend too much time cooking and in the kitchen. Instead I made in advance Nutella Brownies (see recipe below).

I also set out a platter of strawberries, bread, carrots and pretzels, foods that you can eat the yummy goodness with. Only one friend never tried Nutella and she thought it tasted like Rochette chocolates!

Nutella Brownies

6 tbsp butter
3 oz Nestle bittersweet chocolate
1/4 C Nutella
1/2 C sugar
2 eggs
1/2 C flour
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
(you can add chopped hazelnuts for the top if you want)

Preheat oven to 350ºF and bake for 30 min.

I am not getting paid by Nutella to write this:

My daughter seriously eats 2 Nutella sandwiches a day! She can't get enough of the stuff! It's also costing me a fortune in face wipes.

If you want more info go to their website and be a fan on their Facebook page.

Suri update: Now she's eating Penis Gummies!

Photobucket
Katie Holmes took Suri to Serendipity 3 the other night way past midnight. I used to live a few streets from the restaurant and would enjoy their frozen hot chocolates. Suri holds the box of Penis Gummies curiously while the group (confirmed by Serendipity 3) purchases it. Okay, I'm just asking...what is she doing out after midnight?

Maybe I should let loose as a mom? Whenever we're traveling, I always get back to the hotel by 8pm so I can get the kids to bed.

As for the Penis Gummies, I've seen these before. They should have also gotten the Pasta Boobies.

Suri Cruise Will Do What She Wants...Including Sucking On A Pacifier

Photobucket

People went banana cake crazy online when photos of Suri Cruise sucking on a pacifier this week hit the gossip sites. My first reaction to the pics was this...."WHA???? THAT'S CRAZY!! SHE HAS ISSUES!"

The girl turns five in April. When my son was 21-months-old, he was still sucking on a bottle and then I panicked. Apparently, being on the binky too long might damage teeth and jaw growth.

What this photo tells me is that she is very insecure and needs comfort. Also, the poor thing is always cold! She's been snapped for weeks in Vancouver by the paps showing off bare legs in dresses in the city's chilly winter weather.

Call it bad parenting? No, I won't say that. It's called Scientology. Popeater.com explains:

"Suri just isn't told 'no' very often. Scientology encourages you to make your own decisions and learn lessons as you live your life. She'll know herself when it's time to throw the pacifier away, plain and simple."

That's fine, it's the religion the Cruises follow. However, what's going to happen when she's seven and she wants to suck on a pacifier? Or how about clutching onto her blankie when she goes on her first date?

Celebrities Pick Up 'The Healthy Home' At Kari Feinstein's Style Lounge

Jennifer Love Hewitt, Peter Gallagher, and Ali from The Bachelorette stopped by Kari Feinstein's Style Lounge last weekend and picked up a copy of the book The Healthy Home by Dr. Myron Wentz. The book, due out March 22nd, warns readers about household items that can be dangerous to your health.

Below are some examples from the book. (I am proud to say I already follow all these tips!)

1) Take your shoes off before entering your home. We walk around unwittingly in car oil, pesticides, animal waste and toxins.

2) Non-Stick pots and pans release potential hazardous fumes and particles into the air such as toxic gases, carcinogens and global pollutants. Try using a well-seasoned cast iron skillet instead.

3) “Wrinkle free” sheets can expose you to the chemical PFC (perfluorochemcials) and is linked to reproductive and development toxicity, as well as cancers of the bladder and liver. Try using natural alternatives like cotton or linen.

4) Electrical appliances create EMFs (electromagnetic fields) which are similar to those found under power lines that were linked to cancer clusters. Make sure you unplug your appliances when they are not being used.

Now if I can only manage to keep all the furniture dust free on a daily basis!
