Yesterday we took our kids to see Santa Clause and his reindeer at a heritage festival. Before we went to see him, my son wanted to go on the hayride. Reluctant, I took him. We sat on some hay while a tractor pulled us along the snow. It was freaking freezing out but my son was really happy to be on the wagon.
When we stopped to get off, a man put a wooden ladder next to the wagon so people can get off. When I took the first step I slipped, banging my back on the ladder! Those steps were iced up! I got up but felt pain on my back. I wobbled away, trailing behind my son who was excited to see Santa in this little log cabin. I was sort of pissed off and really wanted to hit Santa in the face. I know, it wasn't his fault but I felt I wanted to blame somebody. I told my husband and he exclaimed, "So sue!" Yeah...that's it! I'll take the heritage museum down!
Inside there were cookies and hot chocolate being given out. When my son went up to see Santa, he came back to where we were sitting and handed us a small bag of potato chips. Whoa! Santa is feeling the recession! Santa couldn't afford little gifts to kids so he decided to hand out bags of junk food? Sigh, oh well at least he made it to see the kids.
