Baby out in 2 weeks - Will I remember anything else besides a baby's throbbing head?
It's been two and half years since I gave birth the last time and realize that this baby is not going to be thirty-something pounds like my son. She is going to be tiny with little hands and feet.
What I do remember of a newborn is that their skull throbs. Isn't that funny? I don' write about their baby smell or when we first meet eye to eye, all I remember is that throbbing head!
Alright, now I remember something else. The day we took our son home from the medieval hospital in England. Mr. Mogul's parents had come to pick us up and I remember us fitting the baby in the car seat. He looked so tiny! The drive home seemed like an hour even though we only lived 15 minutes away. When we got home, I plopped the baby on the floor and turned to see the in-laws running out. What? No help? (Later my MIL told me that she didn't think we wanted their help)
The first two hours home our son cried. As I decided not to breastfeed, we had one can of formula and one bottle. My husband had to keep boiling the same bottle every two hours. We had no idea about sterilizers! At one point that baby started crying. DUH! Yes babies cry but what do I do? I panicked! I got out a baby book to see if he had any weird symptoms. It turned out he was just hungry. Double DUH!
So I am a little more prepared this time around. I have the bottles and microwave sterilizer ready. I also will try to breastfeed as long as I can when I get back from the hospital. I'll keep you updated on that part! (Don't worry, I won't post pics of that!)

This post was inspired by the online baby shower given for Motherhood Uncensored and Girls Gone Child. They are due around the same time as me. (P.S. I had my first baby shower the other night and it was so much fun!)
