My VMAs recap: The Bad, The Bad and The Ugly

So I watched the MTV Video Awards last night. All ten minutes of it. That show has gotten really bad! When I was an MTV intern, the VMAs were supposed to be hip and happening. Now it's just corny, with cue card reading dialog from Britney Spears. The musical pop acts was never my thing anyway. Also what was up with the back up dancers? They were, like...convulsing tops on stage!

The thing that set me off was host Russell Brand. I don't know if he was supposed to get all political or he decided to spontaneously blurt out his rants. I just don't think it was cool. Keep political views off award shows! I left England to get away from unfunny TV show presenters and they just want to follow me here!

OK, so time for the fashion. Is it me or am I just getting old? These outfits look ridiculous. I say thumbs down. What do you think?


I do like this dress worn by Ashlee Simpson. Tasteful, or maybe because I am leaning to her instead of the pop divas now that I have 27 days to go in this pregnancy! Holy prenatal vitamins!!


Later on in the night, I did tune in to the VMAs after being on Twitter, but then turned the channel again because of the convulsing dancing tops. I think Twitter should have its own awards show!
