Epidural or Pina Colada?
As I got two weeks to go, I've been mulling over whether I should get the epidural or not.
With the birth of Toddler Mogul I ended up getting a fever, which delayed my pushing by two hours. I remember getting ready to push at 4:00am and staring at the nurse's back who was dilly-dallying with paperwork. I really wanted to throw a knife at her back! Then the next thing I know, I collapse in sweat which brought medical personnel sticking tubes in me. He did end up coming out at 6:26am.
The doctor told me there is a chance I could get a fever again so now I'm all nervous. I would love o do this without drugs. I marvel at women who can do it at home and amazed at the African women on the Discovery Channel who can squat down on a tree, give birth, then prepare dinner right away.
Maybe I should just get drunk at the hospital and deal with the pain? Pina Colada is my cocktail of choice!
For those of you who have never had a baby or are a guy (excluding the pregnant man), labor is extremely painful! For those of you who have braved the journey, what was your birth experience like?
